Project Description:

The studio has completed a significant restoration and consolidation project on a 1903 historic building, with the aim of combining structural safety with the enhancement of its architectural heritage.

The intervention included the consolidation of the masonry through injections carried out via micro-holes in the joints of the exposed brickwork, later filled with brick dust and lime-based mortar. All works were executed in close collaboration with restorers, ensuring full respect for the original materials and finishes.

Special attention was given to the staircase hall, where the walls were first consolidated and subsequently enriched by the restoration of fresco decorations. The timber roof structure was entirely replaced, while the stone decorations on the façade were restored and consolidated. In addition, the underground walls were treated with a dehumidification system and the creation of an anti-rising damp chemical barrier.

The result is a project that successfully combines the requirements of seismic upgrading with the preservation of historical and artistic details, giving new life and long-term resilience to a distinguished historic building.
