Project Description: 

MUDH are flexible and scalable, able to grow or shrink depending on the context—whether it’s a narrow alley or a busy plaza. They are designed to activate public space, encourage social interaction, and respond to the local environment with cultural sensitivity and refined urban design. By day, they offer shade, rest, and social gathering; by night, they become glowing transparent lanterns, inspired by the Fanous, the handcrafted lamp of Ramadan—symbols of hospitality, identity, and urban orientation. We have identified a series of strategic locations where these urban nodes can be implemented, each one resonating with the identity of its surrounding neighborhood. Through these interventions, we aim to reestablish a meaningful dialogue between citizens, the city, and the sea, bridging physical and symbolic divides, and offering a new, sustainable vision for Dubai’s future.
